Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Ace Fares Rental Company ("Ace Fares", "we") collects when you use this website and rent a car from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account and contact details: your name, email address and mobile number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google. If you set a password, we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it.
- Booking details: the car, dates, pickup or delivery location, your age range, and the insurance company and policy number you give us.
- Payment details: payments and security deposit holds are processed by Stripe. Your full card number goes to Stripe, not to us; we see only things like the card brand and last four digits.
- Your electronic signature: when you agree to the rental agreement we record the date and time, your IP address, your browser, and the version of the terms you agreed to.
- Identity check: photos of your driver's license and a selfie, collected and checked by our verification provider, Stripe, including a comparison of your face with your license photo (a biometric comparison). We ask for your consent first. We receive the result and the name on your license; we don't store the photos or your date of birth.
- Vehicle photos: the photos you and we take of the car at pickup and return, with the mileage and fuel readings and when they were taken.
- Reviews: the star rating and comments you post about a trip. We show them on our website with your first name and last initial.
- Messages you send us: your name, email, phone number and message when you use the contact form.
- Host applications: the name, contact details and car information you send through the Become a host form.
- Referrals: who invited you, if you signed up through a friend's link, and any Ace Fares credit you earn or use.
- Messages and technical data: emails and texts we exchange, and basic technical information our hosting provider records when you visit, such as IP address and browser type.
How we use it
- To take and manage your booking, process payments and deposit holds, and send your confirmation and rental agreement.
- To confirm your identity and eligibility to drive, and to prevent fraud and theft.
- To document the car's condition, mileage and fuel, and to handle damage, tolls, tickets and other charges under the rental agreement.
- To contact you about your trip and account by email and text.
- To run the referral program, and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:
- Service providers that run parts of our service for us: Stripe (payments, deposit holds and identity verification), Netlify (website hosting and data storage) and Google (email delivery and Google sign-in).
- Insurers, toll authorities, law enforcement and courts when needed for an accident, claim, toll or ticket, a stolen vehicle, or when the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized.
How long we keep it
- License photos, selfies and biometric data are deleted by Stripe at our request 90 days after your rental ends (sooner if it's cancelled), and always within one year.
- Booking records, signature records and vehicle photos are kept as long as we need them for the rental, any dispute or claim, and our tax and legal records.
- Your account stays open until you ask us to close it.
Your choices
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information by emailing acefaresrental@gmail.com. We may need to keep some records the law or an open rental requires.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages.
- You can book without creating a password; an account is created from your checkout details so you can see your trip.
Security
We use encrypted connections, keep payment and identity data with Stripe, and limit who can see your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and tell us if you think your account was misused.
Children
Our service is for adults. Drivers must be at least 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
